Money Sense

Customers

We serve customers in England and Wales, supporting them with their personal, private, and business banking needs, and supporting large corporates in Western Europe.

Alongside a wide range of banking services, we offer businesses specialist sector knowledge in areas such as manufacturing and technology, as well as access to specialist entrepreneurial support.

We have been running MoneySense, an impartial financial education programme for 5–18-year-olds, for more than 21 years. By the end of 2018, we aimed to help another 1 million young people understand and take control of their finances.

Tomorrow Begins Today

We help people reach their potential by pointing them to the actions they can take today to help turn their dreams into reality tomorrow. It’s about celebrating the power we all have to take small steps forward so we can achieve our goals sooner.

History

Our history dates back to 1968 when National Provincial Bank, Westminster Bank, and District Bank came together to form National Westminster Bank – symbolised by the three chevrons in our logo.

Since then, we have had a proud history of ‘firsts’ and innovative solutions – leading the growth of cash machines in the late 1960s and 1970s and launching the Switch debit card in the 1980s. Today, we continue to lead in innovation as one of the first banks to launch Apple Pay and Touch ID security.
